Install and update the app

Install the app the way Unipesa told you: from the store or from a download link. Sometimes the app asks you to update it.

What is on the screen

Section titled “What is on the screen”

When a new version is out, you can see one of two screens. They appear on Android phones.

  • Update available: A new version (…) is available. You can update now or later.
  • Update required: Version … is required to keep using the app. You must update to keep working.

Both show your version as Current: ….

How to update the app

Section titled “How to update the app”
  1. Tap Update now.
  2. Wait. You see Downloading… N%, then Opening installer….
  3. If the phone asks for permission, tap Open settings. Allow installs from this source. Come back to the app.
  4. Follow the steps on the phone to install.
  5. If you see Update installed. Please close and reopen the app to finish., tap OK. Close the app and open it again.

To update later, tap Later. You can do this only on Update available.

If something goes wrong

Update failed. Please try again.Check the internet. Tap Retry.
Not enough free space to install the update. Free up some space and try again.Delete files or apps you do not need. Try again.
The update could not be installed after several attempts.Tap Continue without updating to keep working. Contact support.
Allow installing apps from this source, then return here to continue.Tap Open settings and allow it. Then come back to the app.

Can I skip the update?

Yes, if the screen says Update available: tap Later. No, if it says Update required.

How do I know my app version?

Open More, then Terminal Info. Look at Application Version.

The text on my update screen is different. Why?

Unipesa can change the text on these screens. The steps are the same.
